Today I am reviewing the Painted man.
This book is the first in a series of books, the first written by Peter V Brett.
The painted man is a fantasy fiction novel about a world of demon like creatures
who rise from the core of the earth in the night time to kill mankind and destroy the world
however among the majority of scared people, some stand strong in the night and fight
for their right to live without fear of the night, some to protect their families and some just
for the love of carnage and mayhem.
Arlen is a young boy unfortunate enough to grow up in a small town constantly in turmoil
at the hand of the throngs of corelings that invade come sunset. Arlen learns the hard way
to be strong however unlike many others Arlen stands in defiance against the corleing
forces and sets out on a journey that leads to a dramatic ripple affect across the lands
bringing with him change and hope to those he meets.
Not only did Peter V Brett manage to capture my imagination in this book and set such
a clear image in my mind of the events taking place but in this book he also uses a very
intriguing writing style. Skipping from one characters perspective to another
characters perspective, keeping you interested all the way through but also, wondering what will happpen where you last left off with the other character part of the story.
Eventually all the characters fates intersect in a staggering climax that is satisfying to
the reader yet leaves you in suspense awaiting for the next book.
The book that continues the story of The Painted Man is 'Desert Spear'.
Thanks for Reading
I give this book a 5 Star Rating =)
